Google Maps Mismatch Added to Barapulla Congestion, Delhi Police Say

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police reported a mismatch between Google Maps and conditions on Barapulla Phase-III on Friday morning, saying motorists were being directed towards a heavily congested stretch shown as clear on the app.

In an October 9 alert issued at 10:53 am, police said the problem affected traffic approaching Barapulla and Ring Road from Noida Link Road and Mayur Vihar Phase-I. Vehicles were diverted towards NH-24 and DND to ease the congestion.

Navigation issue reported for correction

Police said congestion on the DND/NH-24–Sarai Kale Khan route was being reflected on Google Maps while the Barapulla Phase-III stretch appeared clear despite heavy traffic. This was steering more commuters towards Barapulla, resulting in slow-moving traffic, according to the alert.

The issue was reported to the concerned agency with a request for early resolution and corrective action. Traffic personnel were present to regulate vehicles, police said.

The alert listed Delhi Traffic Police helplines 1095 and 011-25844444 for assistance. Commuters should check the police’s latest updates before travelling.
