Operation Shastra 2.0: Delhi Police Northern Range Conducts Midnight Crackdown on Organized Crime

New Delhi: In a major crackdown on organized crime and active criminal elements, teams of the Northern Range of Delhi Police carried out a special operation titled “Operation Shastra 2.0” during the intervening night of April 14–15, 2026, Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range) Vijay Singh said.

As part of the operation, around 430 police personnel formed into 24 teams conducted coordinated raids at 28 locations across the region, targeting suspected criminal hideouts and illegal activities.

The operation led to the arrest of eight accused persons, while six juveniles were taken into custody. Police also recovered a significant cache of illegal weapons, including six pistols, four country-made katta, three button-operated knives, and 52 live cartridges.

In addition, one car, nine motorcycles, four scooters, and 12 mobile phones were seized during the raids, indicating the scale of the network under surveillance.

Officials stated that the operation was aimed at dismantling organized criminal networks and preventing potential unlawful activities. Further investigation is underway to identify additional links and ensure strict legal action against those involved.
