New Delhi, July 5: The Dwarka District Police has cracked a major mobile phone theft case by arresting three accused involved in stealing smartphones from a delivery truck and recovering 604 brand-new Vivo mobile phones worth approximately ₹1.5 crore.

According to DCP Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh, the breakthrough was achieved by a team from Police Station Sector-23, Dwarka, following an intensive investigation into the theft.

Police said the investigation involved the painstaking analysis of footage from more than 200 CCTV cameras, enabling investigators to trace the movement of the accused and the stolen consignment.

During the course of the investigation, the Delhi Police coordinated closely with the Uttar Pradesh Police, which led to the recovery of the stolen mobile phones from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

The recovered consignment includes 604 new Vivo smartphones, with an estimated market value of nearly ₹1.5 crore.

Police have arrested all three accused allegedly involved in the theft. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused are part of a larger interstate vehicle theft or cargo theft syndicate and to identify any additional persons involved.

Delhi Police said the case highlights the importance of technology-driven investigation and interstate coordination in successfully solving organised property crimes.
