Delhi Police Busts Interstate Gambling Syndicate in Shahdara; 21 Arrested, ₹15 Lakh Gaming Chips and Cash Seized

Date:

New Delhi, July 3: In a major crackdown on organised gambling, the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Shahdara District, Delhi Police, has busted an interstate gambling syndicate operating from West Nathu Colony and arrested 21 people, including 16 men and five women, officials said.

According to Delhi Police, the operation was carried out following specific intelligence regarding an organised gambling network allegedly being run from the locality. Acting on the information, the AATS team conducted a raid and apprehended all the accused from the gambling den.

During the raid, police recovered 2,998 gaming chips with an estimated value of approximately ₹15 lakh, ₹77,900 in cash, 22 decks of playing cards, and other gambling-related materials believed to have been used for organising betting activities.

Police identified Anil Chaudhari and Sagar Ahuja as the main accused in the case. Investigators are examining their roles in operating the gambling syndicate and are probing whether the network has links extending beyond Delhi into neighbouring states.

Officials said the recovered gaming chips, cash and other materials have been seized as evidence, and further investigation is underway to identify additional associates, financiers and possible interstate connections of the racket.

Delhi Police stated that the action is part of its continued drive against organised crime and illegal gambling activities in the National Capital.

Shahdara Police reiterated its commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks and ensuring strict enforcement of the law. Authorities added that efforts are continuing to identify others involved in the syndicate and to trace the financial trail linked to the illegal gambling operation.
