New Delhi: Technical surveillance and field verification helped the Outer North district’s Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) trace a man declared a proclaimed offender in a Rohini North theft case, Delhi Police said in a note dated October 4, 2026.
Police identified him as Mojam Khan alias Nazir, 32, of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by a court in FIR No. 494/20 at Rohini North police station, according to the note.
Surveillance combined with field verification
The police account said the team combined digital intelligence with ground-level information to locate the accused, who had been evading arrest. The note did not specify where or when he was apprehended.
The case was registered under Sections 379 and 411 of the Indian Penal Code. Police also said Khan had 19 previous involvements; the note did not give details of those cases or their outcomes.
AATS team carried out the operation
The proclaimed-offender staff team comprised ASI Sandeep, Head Constable Abhishek Khatri and Constable Manish. It worked under Inspector Anand Kumar Jha, in charge of AATS, and the supervision of ACP Operations Dinesh Kumar.
Police said the operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional DCP-I Lokeshwaran R and the directions of Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Vijay Singh.
The district police described the apprehension as part of its intensified efforts to trace proclaimed offenders through sustained surveillance and field verification.
