Delhi Metro Yellow Line Disruption: Commuters Face Heavy Delays Between Vishwavidyalaya and Central Secretariat

Date:

New Delhi: Metro services on the Yellow Line between Vishwavidyalaya and Central Secretariat were severely disrupted on Friday morning during peak office and school hours, causing major inconvenience to thousands of passengers.

According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials, trains were running with long delays on this stretch, while services across other metro corridors remained normal.

Commuters reported that the travel time between Vishwavidyalaya and GTB Nagar, usually just a few minutes, stretched to nearly 50 minutes. Several passengers expressed frustration, stating that the disruption left them struggling to reach schools, colleges, and workplaces on time.

DMRC confirmed that services were being gradually normalised and technical teams were working to restore smooth operations on the affected Yellow Line section.

The incident once again highlights the impact of metro disruptions on daily commuters in Delhi NCR, especially during rush hours.
