Delhi Dust-Control Drive: 1,150 Mist Sprays, 70 More Road Sweepers by November

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi is deploying 1,150 mist-spray units to control road dust as part of a round-the-clock, year-round anti-pollution mission, the Chief Minister’s Office said.

The CMO listed 608 anti-smog guns at construction and demolition sites and another 156 on high-rise buildings. It said 95 mechanical road sweepers had been deployed, with 70 more to be added by November 2026.

Dust Portal 2.0 will support AI-powered monitoring, real-time alerts and compliance tracking at construction sites, according to the announcement. The measures target road dust and emissions from building activity across the capital.

The CMO said the drive was being taken forward under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta as a 365-day, 24-hour mission. The equipment deployment adds to the city’s earlier plan targeting 47 pollution hotspots.
