New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revised its security advisory, listing 45 stations where entry and exit will remain closed from 9 pm on October 9 until 6 pm on October 10. New Delhi Metro station will also remain unavailable for interchange.
Interchange facilities will remain available at the other concerned stations, DMRC said. Security agencies will review the situation and further updates will be issued accordingly, making the distinction between closed station gates and interchange access important for commuters planning their journeys.
Revised list replaces earlier advisory
The revised announcement partially modifies the earlier advisory covering 57 Metro stations. The latest list contains 45 stations, including major interchange points such as Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Kashmere Gate and Hauz Khas.
The change follows the Supreme Court’s directions for regulated Metro and rail services and reassessment of transport restrictions. The court also called for revised advisories to be widely publicised.

What commuters need to know
Passengers cannot enter or leave through the gates of the listed stations during the stated period. Those changing Metro lines can use the interchange facilities at the concerned stations except New Delhi. Travellers whose route depends on changing lines at New Delhi should plan an alternative journey.
The advisory does not announce a network-wide shutdown. The stated closure period runs until 6 pm on October 10, with further arrangements dependent on the security review and subsequent DMRC updates.
Road users should also check the Delhi traffic restrictions and diversions for October 10. Separately, Delhi Police has refused permission for the proposed Jantar Mantar protest.
