NEW DELHI: Monthly incentives for 6,690 ASHA workers in Delhi have been doubled from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000, the Chief Minister’s Office announced on October 6, alongside three healthcare initiatives launched at ASHA Sammelan 2026.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the programme under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, according to the CMO’s official post on X.
Higher incentives for frontline workers
The announcement identifies 6,690 ASHA workers as beneficiaries of the increased monthly incentive. The CMO said the measure is intended to strengthen healthcare delivery at people’s doorsteps.
Organ donation coordination and newborn screening
A State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) was inaugurated at GB Pant Hospital. The CMO said it would improve coordination of organ donation and transplantation.
The ANMOL programme was also expanded to provide free newborn screening for 56 health conditions, with the stated aim of supporting early detection and treatment.
Nursing home portal launched
A Nursing Home Management System Portal was launched to simplify processes and improve transparency and accountability, according to the announcement.
The CMO presented the measures as part of an effort to strengthen Delhi’s healthcare services from frontline delivery to the last mile.
