NEW DELHI: For retired Delhi Jal Board employees and family pensioners, arranging money before treatment and waiting for reimbursement has been a financial burden. A newly launched cashless healthcare facility is intended to remove that pressure for 50,000 pensioners and family pensioners.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the Delhi government facility under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said it would benefit 50,000 DJB pensioners and family pensioners, while the Chief Minister’s Office outlined the treatment covered at empanelled hospitals.

Emergency care, planned treatment and tests
The facility provides cashless emergency, planned and non-emergency treatment, as well as medical tests, at empanelled hospitals, according to the CMO.
The change addresses two connected concerns for pensioners: paying a hospital bill upfront and then going through a lengthy reimbursement process. The government said the facility would ease access to care by removing those burdens.
What pensioners should check
The official posts did not provide a hospital list, a financial coverage limit or detailed enrolment and admission procedures. Pensioners should confirm the applicable arrangements with the Delhi Jal Board and the empanelled hospital before planned treatment.
Parvesh Sahib Singh, Mayor Pravesh Wahi and MLA and DJB vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay attended the launch. The minister also named Delhi government Principal Secretary Rajeev Verma and DJB CEO Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav among those present.
