Two Maharashtra Residents Found Dead in East of Kailash Rented Room; Probe Underway

Date:

New Delhi, July 20: Two adults from Maharashtra were found dead in a rented room in East of Kailash on Monday, with Delhi Police saying it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received at Amar Colony police station at 9.08 am reporting the suspected suicide of a man and a woman at Sant Nagar.

Police reached the rented accommodation in Sant Nagar, East of Kailash, where the door had already been broken open by a friend or neighbour of the woman.

A 26-year-old woman, a resident of Nagpur in Maharashtra, was found dead on the bed. A 30-year-old man, identified as Anmol Kunda Patil, son of Gundu Patil and a resident of Maharashtra, was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a nylon rope.

The Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) examined the scene and collected exhibits, including a suicide note that prima facie appears to have been written by the man, police said.

Both bodies have been shifted to AIIMS, New Delhi, for post-mortem examination. Police said the families of both deceased have been informed.

Delhi Police said further inquiry is underway and all possible angles are being investigated. More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
