New Delhi, May 26: A 17-year-old boy was critically injured after being shot at an eatery in Delhi’s Amar Colony area following a minor altercation on Monday evening, police said.

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call regarding the firing incident was received at Amar Colony Police Station around 7:54 PM.

Soon after the information was received, local police teams along with the Station House Officer (SHO) and ACP rushed to the spot. However, the injured victim had already been shifted to Moolchand Hospital by then.

Senior police officers later reached the hospital and found the victim unconscious and on ventilator support.

Police said the victim is a 17-year-old boy whose father runs a laundry business in the Chattarpur Enclave area.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager was having food at the eatery along with his friends when a group of boys passed near their table. During the incident, one of the boys allegedly brushed against or touched the victim’s chair, leading to an objection from the victim.

Following the argument, the group reportedly left the spot but returned after around four to five minutes.

Police said one of the boys then allegedly fired a single bullet at the victim before fleeing from the scene along with the others.

Officials confirmed that only one round was fired in the incident and no other person sustained injuries.

The victim was later shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre for advanced treatment.

According to police, the teenager remains in critical condition but is currently stable under medical supervision.

Delhi Police has initiated legal action and deployed multiple teams to identify and apprehend the accused.

Crime team officials inspected the spot, while investigators are analysing CCTV footage and conducting technical surveillance to trace those involved in the shooting.
