New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed stricter implementation of waste segregation at the source as a top priority in the capital’s cleanliness and waste management strategy. Chairing a high-level meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), she emphasized that effective source-level segregation is essential to reduce landfill load and modernize garbage disposal systems.

The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood and senior officials of relevant departments. Discussions covered the condition of landfill sites, the need to upgrade waste transfer stations, and the expansion of waste-to-energy infrastructure.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed her government’s commitment to making Delhi clean, healthy, and livable through fast-paced, result-oriented reforms in urban sanitation.
