New Delhi: During an interaction with women on the eve of Diwali celebrations, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government, accusing it of “ruining Delhi in just six months.”
Addressing a gathering of women at his residence, Kejriwal extended greetings for Diwali, Dhanteras, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath Puja, saying, “I wish happiness, peace, and prosperity for every Delhi family.”
He then shifted his tone sharply, saying that while people had voted for the BJP expecting better governance, the current administration had “brought Delhi to a standstill.”
“We worked hard for 10 years to make Delhi better — to fix schools, hospitals, roads, electricity, and water supply. But in just six months, they have destroyed everything,” Kejriwal said.
He alleged that garbage collection has stopped, roads are broken, and sewer lines are overflowing, leaving Delhi in filth.
“Hospitals are running out of medicines, diagnostic machines aren’t working, Mohalla Clinics are shut, and free electricity and water benefits have been quietly rolled back,” he claimed.
Kejriwal further said that residents in areas like Vasant Vihar are facing severe water shortages, with some malls on the verge of closure due to lack of water.
“People thought BJP would work smoothly since both the Centre and MCD are under their control. But now, the same people regret their decision,” he said.
Accusing the ruling party of being driven by greed and not governance, Kejriwal remarked,
“Their politics is for power and money. Our politics is for service. Power will come and go, but service to the people is what matters.”
He concluded his address by urging AAP volunteers to continue serving people selflessly.
“Even if we are not in power, Aam Aadmi Party is still a strong force in Delhi. Work for your neighborhoods, your mohallas, and your people — God will do justice,” he said.
