This will be the first time that such an event is being organized in the Delhi Legislative Assembly to start the budget session. However, in Parliament, when the Union Finance Minister presents the budget, a Halwa ceremony is organized, and the employees involved in budget preparation are treated with Halwa to sweeten their mouths.
The Chief Minister mentioned that email and WhatsApp numbers were released on March 3rd for suggestions on budget preparation. A total of 3,303 suggestions were received via email and around 6,000 through WhatsApp. Approximately 10,000 suggestions have been received so far. The budget session will begin on March 24th and is scheduled to run until March 28th, but it may be extended further. She stated that meetings have been held with every sector to gather suggestions for budget.
