Lal Qila Blast: PM Modi Reacts from Bhutan, Vows Strict Action — “Those Behind the Attack Will Be Brought to Justice”

Date:

Thimphu/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently on an official visit to Bhutan, has issued a strong statement following the Red Fort (Lal Qila) car blast that rocked Delhi on Monday evening. Speaking from Thimphu, Modi expressed deep anguish over the attack and directed all investigative agencies to take immediate and decisive action against those responsible.

Addressing a gathering in Bhutan’s capital, the Prime Minister said,

“I have come here with a heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi last evening has deeply pained the entire nation. I understand the grief of the families who lost their loved ones. The whole country stands with them. I was in constant touch through the night with key officials and security agencies, reviewing every detail of the investigation. Our agencies will uncover this conspiracy, and those behind it will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks came hours after a car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station, located in a high-security zone of Delhi. The incident has raised serious concerns over the capital’s security preparedness.

Meanwhile, forensic teams and Delhi Police’s Special Cell are continuing their investigations. Multiple clues are being analyzed to piece together the sequence of events and determine whether the blast was an act of terror or a planned attack.

Officials confirmed that Umar, one of the suspects killed in the explosion, had links to individuals named Tariq and Aamir, who have now been taken into custody. Investigators are also questioning several people believed to have connections with Pulwama, as part of the broader probe into the possible terror network.

To ensure public safety, the Red Fort complex remains closed until November 13, and security has been intensified across the Old Delhi area. Several teams have been deployed to follow every lead and ensure that those behind the attack face the toughest punishment.

Prime Minister Modi’s message from Bhutan underscores the government’s firm stance against terror and its commitment to holding every conspirator accountable, no matter where they are.
