Molarband School Students to Be Shifted Until Damaged Rooms Are Repaired; MCD Sets Monday Deadline

Date:

NEW DELHI: Students at the MCD Primary School in Molarband village are to be temporarily shifted to a safe alternative location while damaged rooms undergo repairs, with Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar directing officials to complete the work by Monday.

During an inspection of the area, Khirwar instructed officials to keep student safety the top priority and ensure that classes continue without disruption until the repairs are completed.

Safer classrooms and a school park

The Commissioner reviewed rooms requiring repairs and ordered all necessary work to be completed within the deadline. He also directed officials to take steps to develop a park within the school premises to improve the learning environment.

Healthcare access was another focus. Officials were asked to assess whether an MCD dispensary could be opened at the POTA cabin premises near the MCD Primary School in Molarband Extension and initiate the necessary process after examining the site’s feasibility.

Fix the cause of waterlogging, not just pump out water

At Main Jaitpur Road, Khirwar called for a comprehensive drainage review and technical measures to address recurring waterlogging.

He directed officials to identify and resolve the underlying cause rather than rely on repeated pumping, seeking lasting relief for residents.

The inspection also covered waste dumped along roads in Tajpur Pahadi Mines and Molarband, along with stray-animal issues. Officials were instructed to clear accumulated waste immediately, maintain regular sanitation and take appropriate measures to address stray animals.

Khirwar reviewed the availability of JCB machines, waste- and debris-lifting arrangements and other sanitation resources, directing adequate deployment and time-bound work.

Encroachments and upkeep at Shaheed Bijender Singh Chowk

At Shaheed Bijender Singh Chowk in Molarband village, the Commissioner directed officials to prioritise beautification, maintain cleanliness and remove unauthorised street-vending encroachments in accordance with applicable rules.

He also sought proper maintenance and dignified upkeep of Shaheed Bijender Singh’s statue.

Councillor Hemchand Goyal, Central Zone Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sachin Gupta and senior MCD officials accompanied the Commissioner.

Khirwar instructed departments to coordinate their work, meet deadlines and monitor progress, with lasting solutions for sanitation, drainage, education and healthcare forming the focus of the directions.
