New Delhi: Reinforcing its push for a healthier and cleaner city, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday organised an 8-kilometre Cyclothon in the Karol Bagh Zone, bringing together citizens and civic staff in a strong display of community participation.
The event was aimed at promoting fitness, environmental awareness, and civic responsibility, while advancing the broader vision of the Clean and Green Delhi Mission. Along the designated route, a special cleanliness drive was also carried out, highlighting MCD’s integrated approach towards sustainability and public engagement.
The Cyclothon was flagged off from Rajendra Nagar by Deputy Commissioner Dilkhush Meena, who emphasised the importance of such initiatives in encouraging community bonding and environmental consciousness.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with a large number of citizens and MCD employees actively participating. Their energy and involvement reflected the growing awareness around maintaining both personal health and a clean urban environment.
Beyond promoting physical well-being, the Cyclothon served as a platform to amplify the message of cleanliness, green living, and sustainable practices across the city.
MCD officials reiterated their commitment to organising similar initiatives in the future, aiming to build a healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable Delhi through active public participation.
