New Delhi: MCD Leader of House and Standing Committee member Jai Bhagwan Yadav directed officials to fix loose and hanging electrical wires, clear garbage and improve cleanliness during an inspection of Rajan Babu Hospital in the North Zone.
He also called for an adequate number of ministerial staff to ensure the hospital’s operations run smoothly. The directions accompanied a review of patient services, diagnostic facilities, the kitchen and the Kingsway Chest Center within the hospital premises.
Electrical maintenance and cleanliness reviewed
Yadav asked MCD’s maintenance and electrical departments to rectify loose wires in certain areas. He directed officials to remove garbage lying at one or two spots and improve sanitation across the premises. Trees within the hospital grounds were also to be pruned.
During the visit, he inspected the bronchoscopy and ultrasound rooms and the laboratory. He interacted with patients, including those admitted to the general ward, to ask about their well-being and the facilities available to them.
Yadav said patients from economically weaker sections visit the hospital and that MCD has a duty to provide quality medical care.
Kitchen and patient facilities inspected
He checked food items and their expiry dates in the hospital kitchen and expressed satisfaction with the quality of food. He also expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s facilities overall.
According to Yadav, facilities had improved following the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana in Delhi and with the support of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
North Zone Chairman Gulab Singh, Deputy Chairman Sanjay Tyagi, Hospital Director Ashok Kumar and senior MCD officials accompanied him during the inspection.
