New Delhi: Delhi EV incentives for vehicle purchases and scrapping, totalling ₹7.91 crore have reached more than 2,700 Delhi residents since July 1, the Chief Minister’s Office said in an update on the Delhi EV Policy 2026.
The CMO said eligible electric vehicles also receive a full waiver of road tax and registration fees. It presented the payments as progress in the capital’s shift towards electric mobility.

Figures in the report linked by the CMO put incentive applications at 7,782 up to October 8. Purchase incentives accounted for ₹7.61 crore paid to 2,707 beneficiaries, while ₹29.50 lakh was disbursed to 79 beneficiaries under the scrapping component.
Two-wheelers accounted for 7,706 applications, including 116 for scrapping incentives. The remaining applications comprised six for N1-category trucks weighing up to 3.5 tonnes, including one under the scrapping category, and 70 for electric-car scrapping incentives.
Within the scrapping payments, 55 two-wheeler beneficiaries received ₹5.50 lakh in total. Another 24 beneficiaries in the four-wheeler category received ₹24 lakh.
The policy provides purchase incentives to encourage electric-vehicle adoption and scrapping incentives for eligible older vehicles when a new EV is bought. The CMO said the transition would help improve the capital’s air quality.
