Man Robbed of Car at Knifepoint After Minor Collision in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar

A 53-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his car at knifepoint by three men following a minor road collision in east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area on Friday night, police said.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in the capital, a man was allegedly robbed of his car at knifepoint after a brief argument over a minor collision escalated into violence in the Pandav Nagar area. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Friday near Bansal Sweets in Patparganj.

The victim, Vinod Kumar Sharma, a resident of Sector 14, Noida, and owner of a local pastry shop, was inside his vehicle when it was slightly hit by a bike carrying three individuals. The situation quickly turned hostile when the bikers engaged Sharma in a heated argument. The confrontation turned physical, and the assailants allegedly beat him and brandished a knife before fleeing with his car.

Sharma sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police said a case has been registered under Section 309(6) (Robbery) and Section 3(5) (Joint Liability) of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Pandav Nagar Police Station. One suspect has been apprehended, and efforts are on to trace the remaining accused through CCTV footage analysis from the surrounding areas.

This incident raises concerns over the increasing cases of street crimes and road rage-related assaults in Delhi, with residents urging for greater police patrolling and stricter enforcement of road safety laws.
