Delhi Police Invokes PITNDPS Act Against Habitual Female Drug Trafficker, Shifted to Chennai Jail to Break Network

Date:

New Delhi: In a decisive crackdown on narcotics networks, Delhi Police has detained a habitual female drug trafficker under the stringent PITNDPS Act, 1988 (Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act), marking a significant step in curbing repeat offenders involved in drug trafficking.

According to officials, the accused is a repeat offender with involvement in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act. Given her continued engagement in drug-related activities, authorities invoked preventive detention provisions to ensure she is kept away from her established network.

In a strategic move aimed at disrupting inter-state drug operations, the accused will be transferred from Tihar Jail in Delhi to Central Prison, Puzhal in Chennai. Officials believe that relocating her outside Delhi will effectively break her communication and operational links with the existing drug supply chain.

The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch, led by Inspector Rakesh Duhan and ACP Kuldeep Yadav, under the overall supervision of DCP Rahool Alwal.

Delhi Police stated that this action sends a strong message against drug trafficking networks, particularly targeting repeat offenders who continue illegal activities despite prior arrests.

Officials reiterated their commitment, saying:

“There is no safe haven for drug traffickers. Zero tolerance will be maintained against habitual offenders.”

The move is part of Delhi Police’s broader strategy to dismantle organized narcotics syndicates operating across states and prevent further spread of drug abuse.
