New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested 944 people and bound down another 788 in Operation CyHawk 6.0, a multi-state crackdown targeting organised cybercrime and online financial fraud networks.
Police said the operation linked 4,002 complaints on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal to alleged cheating involving approximately ₹479.14 crore. Of these, 3,275 complaints were from other states and Union Territories.

A total of 283 police teams carried out operations across at least 17 states and five Union Territories. The investigation targeted alleged fraudsters as well as mule-account suppliers, insider facilitators, fraudulent SIM providers and illegal call centres.
Police said 4,979 suspects were detained or rounded up for verification across Delhi. This is a verification figure, not a count of arrests. Notices were served on another 2,081 people.
The operation led to the registration of 596 new FIRs, while 432 previously pending cases were worked out, police said. Four Kalandra reports were also included in the action.
Seizures included 1,037 mobile phones, 1,301 SIM cards, 106 laptops or computers and 397 ATM cards. Police also reported recovering SIM boxes, vehicles, cash, gold and cryptocurrency, without specifying their quantities or values in the statement.
