New Delhi: Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a 52-year-old proclaimed offender who allegedly evaded arrest for nearly 15 years in a 2011 armed robbery case involving gold-chain snatching, a knife attack and carjacking.
Police said the accused was arrested in Rohini on October 17, 2026. A reward of ₹20,000 had been declared for his arrest.

Accused allegedly changed identity
According to the Crime Branch, the accused changed his identity and moved across cities to avoid arrest. The case involved an alleged attack on a morning walker, who was targeted for his gold chain and then attacked with a knife.
The gang later robbed a car while fleeing, police said. The arrest ends a search lasting nearly 15 years; further investigation is in progress.
