New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has foiled a planned robbery near Bhalswa Lake and arrested two desperate and notorious criminals associated with the Narender Group, operating out of Jahangirpuri in North Delhi.
Acting on specific inputs, the NR-1 team apprehended the accused before they could execute their plan, thereby preventing a potential violent crime in the area.
During the operation, police recovered one semi-automatic pistol, one desi katta, and four live cartridges from their possession. Officials confirmed that both accused are habitual offenders and have been previously involved in multiple cases of robbery, dacoity, and violations under the Arms Act across Delhi and the NCR region.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the illegal weapons were sourced from suppliers based in Uttar Pradesh and were intended to be used in gang-related criminal activities.
The operation was carried out by the NR-1 team of Crime Branch, led by Inspector Pukhraj under the leadership of ACP Ashok Sharma and supervised by DCP Pankaj Kumar.
Police officials stated that the timely action not only thwarted a major crime but also reinforced Delhi Police’s zero-tolerance approach towards organized crime and illegal arms networks.
