New Delhi: Ahead of Republic Day 2026, the Delhi Police has intensified security across the national capital by launching a large-scale anti-crime drive titled “Operation Kavach 12.0.” The coordinated operation was aimed at curbing organised crime and strengthening law and order in the run-up to the national celebrations.
Under the 24-hour operation, teams from all 15 police districts, along with personnel from the Crime Branch and Specialised Cells, conducted simultaneous raids at 2,348 locations across Delhi in a meticulously planned crackdown.

- NDPS Act:
- 55 cases registered
- 59 offenders arrested
- Seizure of 31.21 grams of heroin and 30.750 kilograms of ganja
- Delhi Excise Act:
- 231 cases registered
- 238 offenders arrested
- Recovery of over 50,000 quarters of illegal liquor
- Public Drinking Violations:
- 1,682 arrests made under the Delhi Excise Act for consumption of alcohol at public places
- Arms Act:
- 115 cases registered
- 117 offenders arrested
- Other Arrests:
- 261 gamblers apprehended
- 31 proclaimed offenders arrested
- 21 vehicle thieves caught
- Major Bust:
- A fake cosmetic drug manufacturing unit was unearthed in the Bawana Industrial Area
Senior police officials said the operation reflects Delhi Police’s zero-tolerance approach towards organised crime and its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
The Delhi Police stated that such targeted enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to maintain heightened vigilance across the city.
