Delhi entry advisory: valid PUCC required even for BS-VI vehicles

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police has said even BS-VI vehicles will need a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) to enter the capital under its vehicle-entry advisory taking effect on November 1. CNG, electric, BS-VI and exempted vehicles remain subject to the applicable rules, the notice says.

For vehicles registered outside Delhi, the accompanying graphic specifies a period from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. It says entry or operation of such trucks and vehicles is restricted except for CNG, electric and BS-VI emission-standard vehicles. Vehicles exempted under the notification may operate subject to applicable restrictions, the advisory says. The restrictions follow the winter pollution measures announced earlier.

PUCC, interstate buses and through-traffic

The advisory says even BS-VI vehicles will not be permitted to enter without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC). It also lists restrictions on interstate diesel buses from other states that do not meet BS-VI emission standards, and on tractors and jugaad vehicles under the applicable provisions.

Goods vehicles whose destination is not Delhi should use the Eastern or Western Peripheral Expressway or other alternative routes instead of entering the city, police said. Drivers have been asked to check their vehicle’s eligibility before travelling and follow official advisories. Traffic assistance is available on 1095 and 011-25844444.
