New Delhi: Never share an OTP or PIN, verify suspicious calls and report financial cyber fraud immediately on 1930—these were the key messages at an East Delhi Police awareness programme attended by senior citizens and college students in Patparganj.
The programme at IPEX Bhawan, IP Extension, covered digital-arrest scams, fake calls and messages, and online financial fraud. Participants were told to protect their personal and banking details and check suspicious communications before responding.

SI Naresh of Cyber East police station conducted the programme in coordination with the SHO of Madhu Vihar. It was organised under DCP East District Rajeev Kumar and Additional DCP-II Vipul Anekant, the district police said.
Other members of the community also participated. Police encouraged those facing cyber financial fraud to call 1930 immediately, stressing a simple approach to suspicious communications: pause, verify and protect yourself.
Delhi Police has also taken cyber-safety awareness to students through its SAMVAD programme at Delhi Technological University.
