New Delhi: Dangerous buildings and construction that violates planning rules are the focus of a continuing Municipal Corporation of Delhi enforcement drive, with the civic body reporting 16 demolition actions in its latest city-wide exercise.
MCD said it also sealed properties and issued three demolition orders against identified building-norm violations during the October 3 exercise. The drive extends across all 12 zones of the corporation.
Building safety and planning compliance in focus
The corporation said the action covers unauthorised construction, dangerous buildings and violations of the Master Plan of Delhi and Building Bye-Laws. It linked enforcement to public safety and compliance with the rules governing construction.
Field officials have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance across their jurisdictions and act against violations under the applicable provisions of the Master Plan, Building Bye-Laws and other relevant regulations.
Enforcement to continue across all 12 zones
MCD said unauthorised construction and breaches of building norms would not be permitted within its jurisdiction. It reiterated that the drive would continue across all 12 zones against dangerous structures and other violations that may pose risks to public safety.
