Delhi Ends Multiple NOCs for Cinema Halls, Multiplexes; Single-Window Online Licensing System Introduced

Date:

New Delhi: The Delhi Government has notified a new standard operating procedure for licensing cinema halls and multiplexes, replacing the earlier system of obtaining multiple no-objection certificates from different departments with a single-window, fully online process, the Chief Minister’s Office said on X.

Under the new system, licensing will be handled through the e-District portal, with one coordinated inspection, fixed timelines and an integrated decision replacing the requirement to separately approach multiple departments.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the reform is aimed at making the licensing process simpler, more transparent and accountable while ensuring that public safety standards are not compromised.

The new SOP is intended to streamline approvals for cinema halls and multiplexes by bringing the licensing process onto a unified digital platform, according to the CMO.
