Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has attacked the previous Aam Aadmi Party government over the condition of the Yamuna, garbage mountains and roads in the national capital, alleging that the problem was not a lack of funds or authority but a lack of intent.
In a post on X, Gupta alleged that the previous government showed no concern for cleaning the Yamuna, no urgency in removing the city’s garbage mountains and no commitment to improving Delhi’s roads.
She said Delhi needed better roads, medicines, hospitals, schools and public transport, and claimed that funds and administrative authority were available for these requirements.
According to Gupta, however, money meant for Delhi was not properly utilised. She argued that the shortcomings were not caused by a lack of resources but by what she described as a failure of intent.
Gupta also targeted the functioning of the Aam Aadmi Party government, claiming it was perhaps the only government in the country where the Chief Minister held no department, signed no file and accepted no formal responsibility, while still exercising control over the administration.
The remarks were made by Gupta in her X post as criticism of the previous AAP government’s governance record in Delhi.
