New Delhi, July 24: Delhi Police has constituted a Special Task Force (STF) within its Crime Branch to investigate offences relating to paper leaks and other examination-related crimes under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
According to Delhi Police, the STF has been formed with the approval of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, to investigate offences connected with public examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), the National Testing Agency (NTA), recruitment examinations conducted by Ministries and Departments of the Central Government and their attached and subordinate offices, and any other authority notified by the Central Government from time to time.
The STF will conduct prompt, professional and comprehensive investigations into public examination offences. It will also coordinate with prosecuting agencies to facilitate expeditious prosecution and ensure that trials in such cases are conducted on a day-to-day basis.
The Special Task Force will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Delhi Police. Overall supervision and administrative control of the STF will rest with the Special Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, who will issue necessary directions to ensure effective investigation and diligent prosecution of cases.
