Country-Made Pistol, Live Cartridge Recovered at Delhi’s Mandi House Metro Station; Passenger Detained

New Delhi, July 2: A country-made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from a passenger’s bag during routine security screening at Mandi House Metro Station on Thursday morning, prompting immediate action by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Delhi Police.

According to officials, the recovery was made at around 10:11 AM during baggage screening at the metro station. The weapon was found in the possession of a passenger who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Upon detecting the firearm, CISF personnel immediately detained the passenger and informed the Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP) about the incident.

Following the information, Delhi Police personnel reached the station and took custody of both the accused and the recovered weapon for further investigation.

Officials said that teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Crime Team also visited the metro station to examine the scene and assist in the investigation.

Police are now conducting further inquiries to ascertain the purpose of carrying the weapon, whether it was licensed, and if the accused has any criminal background or links to any unlawful activity.

Further legal proceedings in the case are being carried out by the Delhi Police.
