₹50-Crore Land Freed from Encroachment in Palam Extension After MP Bidhuri’s Intervention; Park and Water Reservoir Planned

Date:

New Delhi, June 8: South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has announced that nearly one acre of land worth around ₹50 crore in Palam Extension has been freed from the alleged encroachment of scrap dealers following his intervention with the Centre and Delhi administration.

According to Bidhuri, the reclaimed land will now be developed into a public park and an underground water reservoir, providing much-needed civic infrastructure for local residents.

Sharing the development on social media platform X, the BJP MP said he had requested Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu to take action and ensure the land was freed from encroachment.

Bidhuri stated that the land, located in Palam Extension, had remained under illegal occupation and that residents had been demanding action for a long time.

Following intervention from the offices of the Union Minister and the Lieutenant Governor, the encroachment was removed and the land was recovered for public use.

The MP said the site would now be utilized for community infrastructure, including an underground water storage facility and a public park for local residents.

Bidhuri expressed gratitude to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu for facilitating the action.

He said the successful recovery of the land reflects the government’s commitment to reclaiming public assets and utilizing them for the benefit of citizens.

The South Delhi MP also shared photographs of the action and thanked both leaders on behalf of residents of the area.

The development is expected to provide both recreational space and improved water infrastructure for thousands of residents in Palam Extension and surrounding localities.
