New Delhi, June 3: Max Healthcare has released a statement detailing the medical response to the devastating fire incident in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, confirming that 39 patients were brought to the Emergency Department at Max Hospital, Saket Complex following the tragedy.
According to the hospital, all patients underwent immediate clinical assessment and were treated by multidisciplinary medical teams in line with established emergency response protocols. Most patients were suffering from asphyxiation, while others sustained varying degrees of burn injuries and fractures.
Of the 39 patients received, 18 were declared brought dead. Fifteen patients have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including eight who are currently on ventilator support and remain in critical condition.
The hospital stated that five patients with minor injuries were treated and discharged after receiving primary medical care. One patient was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital due to extensive burn injuries requiring specialized treatment.
Max Healthcare further noted that the deceased include both Indian and foreign nationals.
The hospital activated its mass-casualty response protocols immediately after the incident and mobilized all available clinical and support resources to provide timely treatment to the victims.
Medical teams continue to provide round-the-clock care to patients undergoing treatment, the statement said.
Expressing condolences, Max Healthcare said it extends its deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
The latest figures underscore the severity of the Malviya Nagar fire incident, which has emerged as one of the deadliest fire-related disasters in Delhi in recent years.
