New Delhi, May 24: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday said swift action taken during the government’s Jan Sunwai programme has brought major relief to 36 families in Harsh Vihar A-3 who had been waiting for electricity connections since 2018.
Sharing the update on X, the Chief Minister said the issue was raised directly by residents during the public grievance hearing session, following which immediate directions were issued to resolve the long-pending problem.
According to the Delhi government, the families informed the Chief Minister that despite repeated efforts, they had not received electricity connections for several years.
Acting in mission mode, authorities installed a new transformer in the area and initiated the process of providing fresh electricity connections to all affected families.
Rekha Gupta said the move was not merely about providing a utility service but also about restoring dignity, safety and a better future for residents who had struggled without regular electricity supply for years.
The Chief Minister personally met members of the affected families and assured them that the government would continue taking quick action on public grievances through Jan Sunwai initiatives.
Officials said the electricity infrastructure work in Harsh Vihar A-3 was completed on priority to ensure immediate relief to residents awaiting basic civic amenities.
