New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting of the Food and Supplies Department and announced a series of key decisions aimed at strengthening public welfare delivery in Delhi.
As part of the initiative, ‘Jan Shikayat Samadhan Camps’ will be organized every Saturday from 9 AM to 11 AM starting May 1. These camps will be held in the presence of Assistant Commissioners to resolve pending ration card-related issues on the spot. The Chief Minister is also expected to conduct surprise inspections to monitor implementation.
The camps will also be used to promote awareness about the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme, ensuring beneficiaries can access subsidized food grains seamlessly across states.
In addition, the government will soon invite fresh applications for new ration cards to ensure that no eligible family is deprived of benefits under the public distribution system.
To improve efficiency and transparency, strict accountability will be enforced on dealers and suppliers, with firm action promised in cases of irregularities in the supply chain.
Reviewing the ‘Free LPG Scheme’, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all remaining eligible households are covered before Diwali. A special registration drive will also be launched to expand LPG access under the Ujjwala scheme.
