New Delhi: A fresh political rift has surfaced within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha released a strong video statement, accusing the party of running a “scripted and coordinated campaign” against him.
In the video, Chadha alleged that identical language and accusations were being used against him, indicating a planned attack. He said he initially chose not to respond but decided to speak out to prevent repeated false claims from being believed.
Addressing the three main allegations reportedly cited by AAP for restricting his participation in Parliament, Chadha categorically denied each of them.
On the first allegation—that he did not join opposition walkouts in Parliament—Chadha termed it a “white lie” and challenged critics to produce even a single instance where he failed to support the विपक्ष. He pointed out that CCTV footage from Parliament could verify his claim.
Responding to the second allegation—that he refused to sign an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner—Chadha said no party leader had ever asked him, formally or informally, to sign such a motion. He added that several other AAP MPs had also not signed it, questioning why he alone was being targeted.
On the third allegation—that he avoids serious issues out of fear—Chadha strongly rejected the claim, stating that his focus in Parliament has always been on raising public concerns rather than creating disruptions. He highlighted issues he has raised, including GST, income tax, unemployment, inflation, public healthcare, pollution, and railway passenger concerns.
“I did not go to Parliament to shout or create chaos. I went there to raise the voice of the people,” he said, emphasizing his four-year track record in the House.
Concluding his statement, Chadha asserted that every false allegation against him would be exposed and answered, adding, “I am wounded, and therefore, I am dangerous.”
The development marks a significant escalation in internal tensions within AAP, with political observers closely watching the fallout.
