Decomposed Body Discovered in Bawana Field: Missing Man Murdered After Night Out

Date:

New Delhi: A disturbing murder case has emerged in outer Delhi, where a decomposed body was found in an open field in the Mungeshpur area, under the jurisdiction of the Bawana Police Station, on Tuesday.

Authorities received information about the body on March 31, prompting a swift response from police officials, including senior officers. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a man in a highly decomposed state, complicating initial identification efforts.

The deceased was later identified as Pradeep, son of Mangeram, by his brother Anil. Police sources confirmed that Pradeep had previously been categorized as a “bad character” at the Bawana police station.

Preliminary investigations revealed that on March 29, around 2 PM, Pradeep visited a liquor shop with three associates. The group subsequently moved to the Mungeshpur area to consume alcohol. At approximately 10 PM that evening, Pradeep contacted his wife, stating he was near Sohti–Kutubgarh Road and that his scooter had a puncture. He assured her he would return shortly.

However, shortly after the call, his mobile phone was turned off. Despite his family’s repeated attempts to reach him, he remained untraceable. On March 31, his wife filed a missing person report at the Dariyapur police outpost.

Following the discovery of the body, police confirmed that it belonged to the missing man, Pradeep. A case has been registered under FIR No. 165/2026 under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Authorities have initiated a manhunt for the three associates last seen with Pradeep. Multiple teams have been deployed, and efforts are underway, utilizing technical surveillance and local intelligence, to track down the suspects. Investigators suspect foul play linked to the group’s last known activities, and further inquiries are ongoing to clarify the events leading to the murder.
