AI Impact Summit in Delhi: 5,000 Police on Duty, Bharat Mandapam Routes Diverted; Full Traffic Advisory Here

Date:

New Delhi: Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been put in place across the national capital ahead of the AI Impact Summit, with more than 5,000 Delhi Police personnel deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the international event.

Speaking on the preparations, Additional CP Dinesh Kumar Gupta said that round-the-clock deployment has been ensured on all key routes, including airport-to-hotel corridors and hotel-to-Bharat Mandapam stretches, where major summit activities are scheduled. Special attention is being given to VIP movements to ensure seamless transit.

Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory highlighting diversion plans and routes to avoid in order to minimise inconvenience to the public. Authorities have identified certain areas around Bharat Mandapam — including Mathura Road and Bhairav Marg — as prohibited zones during the summit period.

Key stretches such as Subramania Bharati Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Sardar Patel Marg, and areas around Teen Murti Roundabout may witness traffic restrictions, particularly where foreign delegations and dignitaries are staying. Commuters have been advised to check the official advisory before planning travel, especially those heading to railway stations, the airport, or appearing for CBSE examinations.

Coordination has also been established with the Education Department to brief schools located near restricted routes to prevent disruption for students and parents.

On the security front, authorities confirmed enhanced surveillance measures. CCTV cameras installed by NDMC are being monitored live through the C4I command centre. Any suspicious movement or technical issue detected through surveillance will immediately be relayed to ground teams for prompt response.

Delhi Police stated that comprehensive rehearsals and point-wise briefings have been conducted to ensure a smooth and secure summit. The AI Impact Summit is expected to host international delegates, global experts, and heads of state, prompting heightened vigilance across central Delhi.
