Mongolpuri Birthday Horror: 20-Year-Old Youth Stabbed Multiple Times, Family Cries for Justice

Date:

New Delhi: A shocking incident in Mongolpuri, Delhi has left an entire family devastated after a 20-year-old youth, who had just stepped out to buy items for his birthday celebration, was brutally stabbed multiple times by a group of assailants.

According to eyewitness accounts and CCTV trail, the victim was attacked by 6–8 men who cornered him and stabbed him in at least eight places, mostly in the back. Severely injured, the youth collapsed while attempting to flee. He was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors have declared his condition critical.

The boy, the sole breadwinner of his family after his father’s death last year, had only recently started working. His mother, overwhelmed with grief, said: “He was such a good boy. Yesterday was his birthday. He went out to buy things, and now we don’t know if he will survive.”

Relatives allege that despite an FIR being registered, Delhi Police’s Mongolpuri station has failed to make any arrests so far. Neighbors and family members also expressed anger over alleged police apathy and delays in admitting the victim to hospitals.

The attack has reignited concerns over rising crime and drug abuse in Mongolpuri, Jahangirpuri, and other areas of Delhi. Locals say unchecked narcotics trade has fueled violence, theft, and murders in these neighborhoods.

As of now, the victim remains on life support, while police claim investigations are ongoing. Residents and family members are demanding swift arrests, government support, and stricter action against the drug menace fueling such crimes.
