CBI Arrests PWD Executive Engineer with ₹30,000 Bribe, Recovers ₹1.60 Crore Cash and Property Documents in Delhi-Jaipur Raids

Date:

New Delhi: In a major anti-corruption crackdown, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Public Works Department (PWD) executive engineer posted at the Rouse Avenue District Court Complex in Delhi for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000. Subsequent raids led to the recovery of ₹1.60 crore in cash, property papers, and bank details from multiple locations.

The accused, Kalu Ram Meena, was serving as Executive Engineer in the Judiciary Civil Division-2 of the PWD. He had allegedly demanded 3% commission on bills cleared by his office from a contractor, who later filed a complaint with the CBI.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught Meena red-handed on Monday, accepting ₹30,000 as bribe. Following his arrest, CBI teams carried out search operations at premises linked to Meena in Delhi and Jaipur.
