Delhi Launches “One Road – One Day” Campaign from September 1 to Revamp City Streets Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti

Date:

New Delhi: In a major step toward improving civic infrastructure and aesthetics in the capital, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will launch a city-wide “One Road – One Day” campaign starting September 1, 2025. The initiative, approved by the MCD Standing Committee, aims to refurbish one major road in each of the 12 municipal zones every day, leading up to the Swachh Bharat Mission anniversary on October 2.

Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Satya Sharma, has instructed all Additional Commissioners and Zonal Deputy Commissioners to carry out the campaign with full dedication and efficiency. The campaign aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a clean, organized, and citizen-friendly national capital.

  • Required resources—such as mechanical sweepers, fogging machines, tree-pruning tools, streetlights—will be ensured through adequate budgetary support.
  • Each day’s work must be documented and shared on social media to ensure transparency and citizen engagement.
  • Roads under the PWD or other agency jurisdiction, where MCD performs sanitation duties, will also be included.
