12-Year-Old Identified as Sender of Bomb Threat Email to Delhi School, Says DCP Ankit Singh

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi Police have traced the source of a bomb threat email received by St. Thomas School in Dwarka to a 12-year-old child, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

DCP Ankit Singh of Dwarka district said that on July 15, the school received an email warning of a potential bomb threat, prompting an immediate response from the police.

“Cyber teams and special staff launched an investigation and were able to identify the sender as a minor child, aged 12,” said DCP Singh. The child was later counseled and handed over to their family, he added.

Authorities have treated the incident as a false alarm, but emphasized the seriousness with which all such threats are handled, regardless of their origin. Further measures are being considered to prevent misuse of digital platforms by minors.
