Delhi Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife over Infidelity Fears

Date:

New Delhi: A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly strangling his wife at their home in the Bawana area of outer north Delhi, following suspicions of her infidelity with his younger brother, according to police officials on Monday.

The suspect, Beerpal, was taken into custody on June 1 after he reportedly murdered his 32-year-old wife, Phoolwati, using a black scarf.

Authorities received a call on Sunday evening at the Bawana police station, reporting that a woman had been killed by her husband and was found deceased inside the bathroom of their residence. The caller noted that there were no visible injuries on the body.

Upon arrival, police entered the first-floor room of the house and discovered Phoolwati lying unresponsive, with her head positioned inside the bathroom and her feet extending outside. A black scarf was found tightly wrapped around her neck, and no external injuries were evident, as confirmed by a senior police officer. The couple’s daughter, Kiran, identified the body.

Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams were summoned to the scene to gather evidence and conduct a thorough investigation.

During questioning, Beerpal admitted that the motive for the murder stemmed from his belief that Phoolwati was involved in an extramarital affair with his younger brother, Amit.

Beerpal, who is employed at a factory in Sector-1 DSIIDC Bawana, has been charged under Section 103(1) for murder. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover further details surrounding this tragic incident.
