Delhi Tourism Minister Unveils Ambitious ‘Branding Delhi’ Campaign to Elevate City’s Global Profile

Date:

New Delhi: The Delhi government is set to launch an ambitious “Branding Delhi” campaign aimed at promoting the city’s rich cultural heritage and transforming it into a global tourism hub. This initiative will feature a series of film festivals, tourism circuits, and investment programs designed to showcase Delhi as a vibrant destination rather than merely a transit point.

During a recent review meeting, Delhi’s Minister of Tourism, Kapil Mishra, emphasized the campaign’s goal: “We aim to present Delhi not just as a stopover but as a destination in its own right, highlighting its historical significance, dynamic arts scene, and modern urban landscape.”

Key initiatives discussed include hosting an international film festival to attract filmmakers and position Delhi as a prime location for film shoots. Additionally, the campaign will feature an investment summit to engage both national and international investors, as well as the creation of a new tourism circuit that connects major landmarks such as the National War Memorial, Kartavya Path, Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, and the new Parliament House.

Mishra asserted that it is essential for Delhi to evolve from a mere transit point into a prominent global tourism hub. “This initiative is not just a publicity stunt; it represents a dedicated effort to showcase the pride of Delhi on the world stage,” he stated.

The campaign is backed by budgetary allocations from the Delhi Government’s Budget for 2025–26 and aligns with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s broader vision of positioning the city as a “Developed Capital.”

The minister also highlighted that the campaign will prioritize digital outreach, foster global cultural collaborations, and enhance visibility for both renowned and lesser-known tourist attractions. He called for a transparent and inclusive approach, encouraging stakeholders to contribute suggestions that will strengthen the campaign and ensure its success.
