Dye Manufacturing Company Blaze Kills 35-Year-Old Employee in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A devastating fire broke out at a factory in the Okhla Industrial Area of southeast Delhi on Thursday morning, resulting in the tragic death of a 35-year-old man, as confirmed by an officer.

Initially believed to have occurred at a courier company, further investigation revealed that the fire actually originated from a dye manufacturing company.

Authorities received a distress call reporting the fire at a building where hair dye was being produced at 11:38 am on Thursday. Tragically, Abnesh, an employee, was unable to escape and suffered severe burn injuries, ultimately succumbing to them.

The owner, Athar Aftab, and a manager are facing charges under sections 287 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter), 289 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery), and 106 (1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to a senior police officer, the fire was believed to have been sparked by an electric wire on the second floor of the building. Firefighting operations continued until 1:50 pm, with ten fire tenders dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
