Delhi: One suspect Detained; Main Suspect Evades Police Capture in Murder of Elderly Couple

Date:

NEW DELHI: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the tragic murder of an elderly couple in northwest Delhi. However, the main suspect is still on the run, as confirmed by the police on Wednesday.

Mohinder Singh, 70, was strangled while his wife, Diljeet Kaur, was attacked in their home in the Kohat Enclave neighborhood. Their bodies were found in separate rooms on Tuesday, with their night attendant, who had recently started working for them, mysteriously missing.

“We have taken Ravi into custody from Uttam Nagar. He used to work as an attendant for the family but had quit three months ago,” said a police source. “He’s the same person who recommended the other attendant just a week ago.” The source added that a manhunt is currently underway to catch the main suspect. “We have important leads on his whereabouts, and we are close to catching him,” the source assured.

The elderly couple lived alone, with their two sons nearby and a daughter. Unaware of their parents’ deaths, the children had not visited their home for three days until they were informed by a driver, according to law enforcement officials.
