South Delhi Burglary Cracked: Three Arrested, Stolen Goods Recovered

NEW DELHI: In a significant development, the Delhi Police have successfully apprehended three individuals, including a woman, who were involved in a major burglary at a private residence in South Delhi’s Kailash Colony last month. The suspects managed to steal cash and jewelry worth over Rs 50 lakh, as confirmed by authorities on Monday.

The crime took place on February 21 while the family was away in Surajkund, Faridabad. CCTV footage captured four suspects entering the premises, with two acting as lookouts. The operation was carried out with precision and speed, taking only 19 minutes, leaving the family shocked upon their return.

After an extensive investigation, the police were able to arrest Pardhan, Bhanwar Singh, a female accomplice, and Ramavtar Soni, who was in possession of the stolen goods. They confessed to the crime during interrogation, leading to the recovery of gold and diamond jewelry valued at Rs 15 lakh. Despite these arrests, several suspects are still at large, and efforts to capture them are ongoing.

The crime scene was thoroughly examined, and CCTV footage revealed four suspects entering the residence at 1:15 pm. Two of the suspects forcibly entered the house by breaking the door, while the other two stood guard outside. The suspects quickly fled the scene at 1:34 pm. Their images have been circulated to aid in their identification, as stated by Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankit Chauhan.
