New Delhi: Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor addressed the closing ceremony of the first DDA University Sports Cup alongside Delhi minister Ashish Sood, according to a statement shared by the LG’s office on Thursday.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the Delhi Development Authority and Delhi Technological University for bringing together 10 universities. He commended the kabaddi finalists for their agility, determination and teamwork, congratulated participants and medal winners, and expressed hope that the tournament would become a regular fixture in Delhi’s sports calendar.
Sport and youth development
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on sport, the Lieutenant Governor said it helped build character, resilience and determination. He linked an active younger generation to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
